Born in the Siversky settlement, Gatchina District, Leningrad Region.

From 1976 to 1978 - Apprentice toolmaker, toolmaker at the Leningrad Electrotechnical Plant.

From 1978 to 1981 - Service in the Armed Forces.

From 1981 to 1982 – Course Participant of the Preparatory Department at A.A. Zhdanov Leningrad State University.

From 1982 to 1987 - Student at A.A. Zhdanov Leningrad State University.

From 1987 to 1989 - Trainee, Prosecutor at the Department for Supervision over Criminal Trials in Courts at the Leningrad Prosecutor's Office.

From 1989 to 1992- Assistant to the Prosecutor of the city of Leningrad for supervision over investigations in state security agencies.

From 1992 to 1995 - Prosecutor, Senior Prosecutor of the Division for Supervision over the Execution of Federal Security Laws at Saint Petersburg Prosecutor's Office.

From 1995 to 2000 - Head of the Division for Supervision over the Execution of Federal Security Laws at Saint Petersburg Prosecutor's Office.

From 2000 to 2005 - Assistant to Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation for Special Assignments (at the location of the Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation in the Northwestern Federal District).

From 2005 to 2007 - Deputy Director of the Federal Bailiff Service – Deputy Chief Bailiff of the Russian Federation.

From 2007 to 2018 -  Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.

From 2018 to 2025 - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Northwestern Federal District.

On September 24, 2025 - Appointed Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation.

Awarded the Order of Honor and the Order of Friendship, and holds the honorary title of "Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation."
